Miyo and Kiyoka are coming back.
And this time, fans will not have to wait for a full new season to continue their story.
My Happy Marriage is returning with three brand-new special episodes on October 25, 2026.
The latest update also revealed a new teaser, introduced a new character and gave fans their first preview of the special's new ending theme.
For fans who have been waiting since Season 2, the wait is finally almost over.
Three Episodes Are Coming at Once
The biggest news is the release format.
Instead of spreading the story across several weeks, all three special episodes are scheduled to air on the same day in Japan.
The episodes will begin airing on October 25 at 7:00 p.m. JST, with streaming following later that evening.
Netflix will also stream the special worldwide.
That means Miyo and Kiyoka's next chapter is essentially being delivered as one larger story.
Miyo and Kiyoka Are Still Together
The new special continues after the events of Season 2.
Miyo has already gone through an enormous transformation.
She started the series as a young woman who had been mistreated by her family and believed that she had little value.
Her arranged marriage to Kiyoka initially seemed like another unfortunate chapter in her life.
Instead, it became the beginning of something completely different.
Kiyoka gradually became someone Miyo could trust.
And Miyo began discovering both her own strength and the supernatural abilities hidden within her.
Miyo's Life Is Finally Becoming Happier
The title My Happy Marriage has always carried a certain irony.
Miyo's early life was anything but happy.
She was treated as inferior within her own family and was constantly compared with her half-sister, Kaya.
Her relationship with Kiyoka slowly changed that.
By the end of the second season, Miyo had grown considerably more confident and powerful.
The new special appears to explore what happens when she finally gets to experience something closer to the peaceful life she always wanted.
But peace may not last very long.
A New Character Is About to Complicate Things
The new special introduces Kimio Nagaba, a former elementary school classmate of Miyo.
Kimio is voiced by M.A.O.
Her appearance may seem harmless at first.
But the new teaser gives the character a slightly mysterious presence.
Kimio reconnects with Miyo after she attends a cooking class with Hazuki.
She then performs a "charm" intended to make Miyo even happier.
That sounds innocent.
But considering the kind of world My Happy Marriage has established, fans have plenty of reasons to be suspicious.
The "Charm" Could Be More Important Than It Looks
This is probably the most interesting part of the new story.
Kimio apparently wants to make Miyo happier.
But the teaser deliberately leaves questions surrounding her actions.
What exactly is the charm?
Why does Kimio perform it?
And what happens after Miyo receives it?
The anime has not revealed enough information to answer those questions.
For now, the safest conclusion is that Kimio will play an important role in the new episodes.
The Story Is Moving Into a Different Phase
The previous seasons focused heavily on Miyo discovering her abilities and dealing with threats surrounding the Gifted Communion.
Now the story can explore a different side of her life.
Miyo and Kiyoka are moving toward marriage.
Their relationship has already survived enormous pressure.
The new special can therefore spend more time exploring what their relationship actually looks like when they are not constantly fighting for survival.
That could give fans some of the sweetest Miyo and Kiyoka moments yet.
But Supernatural Problems Are Not Going Away
Of course, this is still My Happy Marriage.
A peaceful romantic life is unlikely to remain peaceful for long.
Miyo's supernatural heritage remains important.
Her connection to the Dream-Sight ability has changed her role within the story.
And Kiyoka's position as a powerful Gifted individual means that danger can easily find them.
The new special therefore has an opportunity to balance romance with the supernatural elements that made the series stand out.
The Ending Theme Is Also New
The new teaser previews the special's ending theme:
"Prelude no Temae ni: for me&you" by Kashitaro Ito.
Kashitaro Ito previously contributed ending themes to the series.
The new song appears to have a warmer and more romantic feeling that matches the new stage of Miyo and Kiyoka's relationship.
It is a fitting change for a story that has gradually moved from tragedy toward happiness.
The Main Cast Is Returning
The two most important voices are returning.
Reina Ueda will once again voice Miyo Saimori.
Kaito Ishikawa returns as Kiyoka Kudo.
Other familiar characters are also returning, including Hazuki, Arata, Yurie and Yoshito.
Behind the scenes, much of the established production team is returning as well.
Kinema Citrus continues animation production, while Takehiro Kubota returns as director and series composer.
Evan Call is also back to compose the music.
This Is Not Season 3
One important detail should not be overlooked.
These are special episodes, not a newly announced third television season.
There will be three episodes in total.
That makes the October release more like a concentrated continuation of Miyo and Kiyoka's story rather than another full-length season.
For viewers who simply want more of the couple, however, three new episodes are still a very welcome return.
Why Romance Fans Should Be Watching
My Happy Marriage has always been more than a straightforward romance.
It combines:
- Historical Japanese-inspired fantasy
- Supernatural abilities
- Family drama
- Character development
- Mystery
- And a slowly developing romance
That combination is what makes Miyo and Kiyoka's relationship work.
Their romance feels important because both characters have changed because of each other.
Miyo has become stronger.
Kiyoka has become more emotionally open.
And now they have the chance to build a future together.
October 25 Could Be a Big Day for Fans
The release schedule makes the return particularly interesting.
All three episodes arrive on the same day.
So viewers will not have to spend three weeks waiting to discover how the story develops.
Instead, the entire special can be watched as one continuous experience.
And with Kimio Nagaba entering the story, there is clearly another complication waiting for Miyo.

The biggest threat is no longer simply whether Miyo can survive her family.
She has grown.
Her abilities have awakened.
And she has finally found someone who genuinely loves her.
Now the new special gets to explore what happens when that happiness is tested again.
With three new episodes, a mysterious new character and a new ending theme, October 25 is shaping up to be an important day for fans of the series.
And if Kimio's "charm" is not as innocent as it sounds, Miyo and Kiyoka's peaceful days may be much shorter than expected.
