Kagurabachi Anime Takes Episode 1 to Comic Con Africa

The Kagurabachi anime is taking its world tour to Africa and Australia.

In the latest announcement released on September 8, 2026, the production team confirmed World Tour Part 2, with special premiere screenings of the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 coming to Johannesburg and Melbourne.

This is the latest major step in the promotional campaign for one of the most anticipated new Shonen Jump anime adaptations.

Johannesburg Gets the First Screening

The African stop will take place at Comic Con Africa in Johannesburg.

Fans will be able to watch the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 on:

The event will also feature a special appearance by anime staff, including Kenta Suzuki, producer of the Kagurabachi anime.

Melbourne Gets the Same Early Look

The second screening will take place at PAX Aus in Melbourne on October 11, 2026.

The event will also show the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 and feature anime staff.

The Melbourne screening is scheduled for 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM AEDT at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Chihiro's Revenge Is Coming

Kagurabachi follows Chihiro Rokuhira, the son of legendary swordsmith Kunishige Rokuhira.

After tragedy destroys Chihiro's peaceful life and his father's enchanted swords are stolen, he takes up one of the remaining blades and begins hunting the people responsible.

The story combines sword battles, supernatural abilities and revenge, making it a natural fit for the action-heavy side of Shonen Jump.

The anime is being directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, with Keigo Sasaki handling character designs and Cypic producing the animation. Chihiro is voiced by Taihi Kimura.

The Anime Is Already a Global Event

The announcement describes the World Tour as expanding across five continents.

Part 1 began in July and included events in cities such as Los Angeles, Paris, Mannheim, Washington, D.C. and New York.

Part 2 now adds Johannesburg and Melbourne, while further details about World Tour Part 3 and the final Japan event are expected this autumn.

The scale of the campaign shows just how much anticipation is surrounding the adaptation.

Kagurabachi Has Already Crossed 4 Million Copies

The manga's popularity has also continued growing.

According to the latest announcement, Kagurabachi has surpassed 4 million copies in cumulative circulation, including digital editions.

That is a significant milestone for a relatively young Weekly Shonen Jump series and gives the anime a strong audience heading into its premiere.

When Does the Anime Premiere?

The Kagurabachi anime begins broadcasting in April 2027.

Crunchyroll has also confirmed a simulcast, excluding select Asian territories.

But fans in Johannesburg will get an unusual advantage.

They'll be able to see the opening 20 minutes of Episode 1 months before the official premiere.

And if the anime delivers on the manga's reputation, that screening could become one of the biggest anime moments at Comic Con Africa this year.
