Ten Years Later, Class 3-E Finally Gets to Say Goodbye

Ten years after Assassination Classroom first aired, Class 3-E is finally getting its proper farewell outside Japan. Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time lands on Crunchyroll today, July 23, as part of the franchise's 10th-anniversary celebration — and if you grew up with Koro-sensei, this is the send-off you've been waiting on.

Not a New Story — Something Better

If you're expecting new assassination attempts or fresh plot twists, that's not what Our Time is about. The film picks up in Class 3-E's final fifteen days before their mission to assassinate Koro-sensei comes to its inevitable end — and instead of racing toward a new climax, it slows everything down. The students spend these last days looking backward: remembering the moments Koro-sensei quietly helped them, the small victories they didn't realize mattered at the time, and just how much each of them changed over the course of one impossible school year.

It's less a movie about what happens next and more a movie about sitting with what already happened — which, honestly, is exactly the kind of send-off a story like this deserves.

Why "Our Time" Is the Right Title

The Japanese title, Minna no Jikan ("Everyone's Time"), captures something the English localization keeps intact: this was never really Koro-sensei's story alone, or Nagisa's, or any single student's. It belongs to all of Class 3-E collectively — the misfits, the outcasts, the "worst class in the school" who spent a year learning that the person meant to be feared as their assassination target might have been the only teacher who ever actually saw them.

Ten years on, that idea still holds up.

Crunchyroll's release goes live at 8:00 PM ET with both Japanese audio and an English dub available, alongside English, Spanish, and Portuguese subtitles. As with most international streaming rollouts, regional availability may vary — some territories could see the film land on a slightly different schedule, so it's worth checking your own region's Crunchyroll catalog directly if it doesn't show up immediately.

This international streaming debut follows the film's original Japanese theatrical run back in March, where it opened as the centerpiece of the franchise's 10th-anniversary celebrations before rolling out theatrically across France, Malaysia, Germany, the Philippines, and South Korea over the following months.

A Franchise Worth Revisiting

Yusei Matsui's original manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016, and the anime adaptation (also currently streaming on Crunchyroll) remains one of the more emotionally resonant entries in the Shonen Jump catalog — a series that used its absurd premise as a way into genuinely thoughtful ideas about mentorship, belonging, and what it means to actually be seen by someone. If you've never watched the original series, there's no better time than right before this film to catch up properly.
