There are more characters joining the bread-stealing chaos.
The upcoming anime Pan Dorobo has released its second main trailer and a new key visual, while also announcing two additional cast members ahead of its October debut.
The newly announced cast includes Atsumi Tanezaki as the mysterious French bread and Kana Hanazawa as the narrator.
A New Face in the Bread Chase
The latest visual puts the titular Pan Dorobo front and centre, holding up a loaf of bread alongside Nise Pan Dorobo, the mysterious French bread and the bakery owner.
The second trailer gives fans a better look at the show's warm, playful world — but there's also a musical surprise.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's New Song
The trailer debuts "Pang Pang Pang", the anime's ending theme performed by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
The song accompanies scenes of Pan Dorobo and Nise Pan Dorobo racing through the streets, while the mysterious French bread quietly makes its own entrance.
It is very much the kind of colourful chaos you'd expect from an anime based on the popular children's picture-book series.
When Does Pan Dorobo Start?
The anime is scheduled to premiere on October 2, 2026, on NHK E-Tele.
New episodes are set to air every Friday at 6:40 PM JST.
The confirmed cast currently includes:
- Ayaka Asai — Pan Dorobo
- Junichi Suwabe — Bakery Owner
- Aki Toyosaki — Nise Pan Dorobo
- Atsumi Tanezaki — Mysterious French Bread
- Kana Hanazawa — Narrator
The series is based on Keiko Shibata's Pan Dorobo picture-book series, with Shin-Ei Animation handling the anime production.
October Is Getting a Little More Interesting
With a new trailer, additional cast members and its ending song now revealed, Pan Dorobo has given fans a much clearer idea of what to expect when it arrives next month.
And judging by the latest footage, there will be plenty of bread involved.
