Kagurabachi Reveals Hinao and Char

The upcoming Kagurabachi anime has revealed two more important characters, giving fans their first proper look at Hinao and Char Kyonagi.

The new character visuals and individual trailers were released on August 28, 2026, alongside the announcement of their voice actors.

Hinao and Char Join the Anime

Miku Ito will voice Hinao, while Miyari Nemoto will play Char Kyonagi.

Hinao works at Cafe Haru Haru and acts as an intermediary who connects people looking for sorcerers with those who can provide their services.

She also takes Char under her protection and eventually introduces her to Chihiro and the others.

Char, meanwhile, is a young girl who is being pursued for reasons connected to the larger conflict.

Their introductions are important because both characters become closely connected to Chihiro during the early part of his journey.

Char Is More Important Than She Looks

Char may initially appear to be simply a child caught in the middle of a dangerous situation, but her presence quickly becomes important to Chihiro's story.

Her circumstances also give Chihiro another reason to protect someone while continuing his search for the stolen Enchanted Blades.

This creates an interesting contrast with Chihiro's revenge-driven personality.

He begins his journey focused almost entirely on avenging his father and recovering the blades, but protecting Char forces him to interact with the world around him in a different way.

Hinao Adds Another Side to Chihiro's World

Hinao's role is less about fighting directly and more about connecting Chihiro and his allies to the wider sorcerer world.

Her position at Cafe Haru Haru makes her a useful source of information and contacts.

That makes her especially valuable in a story where Chihiro can't simply walk into every situation with his sword and expect to find the answers he needs.

Her character trailer also gives fans a first taste of Miku Ito's performance.

The Anime Already Has Its Main Team

The new announcements expand an already impressive cast.

Taihi Kimura voices Chihiro Rokuhira, while Tomokazu Seki plays his father Kunishige Rokuhira and Katsuyuki Konishi voices Togo Shiba.

Behind the scenes, Tetsuya Takeuchi is directing the anime, Keigo Sasaki is handling character designs, and Cypic is producing the animation.

The anime is scheduled to begin airing in April 2027, with Crunchyroll set to stream it worldwide outside Japan, China and Korea.

Chihiro's Revenge Is Only Getting Started

Kagurabachi follows Chihiro after his peaceful life with his swordsmith father is destroyed by the mysterious Hishaku.

The attackers steal six powerful Enchanted Blades and leave Chihiro's father dead.

Chihiro then takes up Enten, the seventh blade left behind by his father, and begins hunting the people responsible.

The arrival of Hinao and Char shows that the anime won't be focused solely on sword fights.

There will also be relationships, alliances and vulnerable characters who gradually become part of Chihiro's dangerous journey.

Kagurabachi has quickly developed a large international following since its manga debut, and the anime adaptation is one of the most anticipated new Shonen Jump projects.

The newly revealed character trailers are another step toward showing how the manga's world will translate to animation.
